Inspiring Designer Series - Mor Koren

Mor was born in Israel and studied Art & Design at the Academic Technological University in Tel-Aviv/Holon. Even as a child, Mor always had a drawing pencil in her hand, and she realized her passion for design at a very young age. A multifaceted artist, Mor’s interests include painting, graphic & web design, sculpture, as well as music, all of which are reflected in the fluidity of her unique designs.

The process of creating and producing an “M Shoe” begins with Mor sketching it in her Manhattan studio. Working alone, without apprentices or assistants, she sketches the shoes, carefully selects the lasts on which they are molded, and adjusts the fit as the final touch. She then supervises the production process.

With a smile she says: “It took a lot of ‘footwork’ to learn how to make shoes beautiful yet comfortable. It all started one day when I was walking down the street and had a mental flash of a unique design idea for shoes, that just wouldn’t let me be.” This vision is in the process of being patented as part of Mor’s promise that the best is yet to come, with a launch date expected for M Shoes third season.

In addition to designing the shoe collections, Mor designs all promotional materials such as: Logo Design, Web Design, Graphic Design, Packaging Design, POP design, etc. This ensures the consistency of the M Shoe Design brand.

I have been blogging for nearly 7 years here at Fish's Philosophy, aka Sillydrunkfish. I’ve said it before, but things have definitely changed in those years, I feel like I have learned quite a bit. One thing that has made the most drastic improvement over the years is my blog theme. Here's are some the screenshots that I be able to collected from web archive since 2007. Let's take a glance!

^ My start up blog theme from 2007

^ Blue refreshing somewhere between 2008 till 2009

^ I have a missing screenshot period from 2008-2011, don't quite get it but this is the theme for 2011

^ 2012 I was into the black and white modern color theme, here it is

^ Previous black and white theme only lasted for few months, then I fell in love with the gallery style theme.

^ 2013 I found my favorite theme, which feature a large slider with amazing space to feature my photography. I am loving this one and curious how long will this one last.

Christmas in Vegas

My Las Vegas Christmas a while ago.... I thought I wouldn't have my perfect Christmas. But I did. This desert city defied the odds and magically transformed the Strip into a winter wonderland.

Christmas in Las Vegas is like walking through the snowy paradise, You’ll find yourself surrounded by different paths that lead you to different holiday attractions, where a lavishly decorated 45-foot-tall Christmas tree awaits. It’s a buzz of activity around the impressive tree – families excitedly taking photos with their loved ones, children gazing in speechless wonder and lovers taking in the delightful moment in each other’s arms.

Everyone thought traveling to Las Vegas would break the bank O.o" Luckily I'm not a gambler myself, I guess that's explain a lot. Thanks to Trip Advisor, I only spent approximate $500 for the RT ticket from New York City and 4 nights of hotel. Weekends usually equal to higher cost, I tend to avoid weekends traveling during the holiday season. :) Generally speaking, you’ll find cheaper room rates on stays occurring between Mondays and Thursdays. Weekend pricing, particularly for Fridays and Saturdays, is going to be the most expensive.

This is probably my 2rd or 3rd time traveled to Las Vegas, but every time when I come to Vegas, I would head over to the Bellagio Fountains for a grand symphony of music, lights and merriment. Especially during the holiday season, the fountains dance to holiday songs such as “Carol of the Bells,” “Santa Baby” and “Jingle Bells,” and everyone will be filled with a good dose of holiday cheer.

Sightseeing in Las Vegas is pretty awesome, although I am from New York City, seeing all cartoon characters walking around in the city is such a common thing, BUT I still went to check out the costumed street performers on the Las Vegas Boulevard, course I might find Angels, Eves, Santa and even Woody from Toy Story dressed in Christmas clothes!

So, if you’re looking for a place to spend Christmas and have a jolly good time, put Las Vegas on your list of destinations to consider. Oh, and did I mention the room rates during winter are also some of the lowest of the year?!
