Crazy "Squares"' Story

Another day in the city. Couples weeks ago on Sunday, I hung out with three friends from college; Elena (Blogger: Lena's Rant), Steve, and Frank. We haven't seen Frank- The "Luigi" in a year, so it was a happy reunion. We hung out in Manhattan until 12 midnight before parting ways and going home. The two guys live in Long Island so it was a bit far for them.

(Left is Frank, Right is Steve)

Anyway, we chilled out at Starbucks, took some pictures, had dinner. Elena scared little children at the fanciest Duane Reade that she'd ever been to and yup. I could be sort of "crazy" and "silly" sometimes. I freaked Elena, Frank and Steve out with my "unusual" off-key singing at the Subway Station. It was so much fun! We felt like a teenager all over again. Haha! We joked, laughed, talked and made fun of each other (loudly). In fact, I think lots of people were staring at our small rowdy group; which I think it was totally okay.

Most of the evening though, I was glued to Steve. Elena quote: "Too bad I don't have a picture of that!".

Oh, on the way back home, on a 7 train, we saw the strangest thing. We've heard of falling asleep in a subway car. But come one, we've all done it, but certainly not like this:

"It was ridiculous! Everyone was minding their own business and chatting or simply staring into space when there was a sudden plop noise, and everyone looks over and sees that. How drunk can someone get? When he finally left and was walking down a flight of stairs, several of us looked out the car windows waiting for him to trip and fall down the stairs." - Elena

And Yup. That's the end of the another crazy day in the metro city ~ - Jess

Happy Chinese New Year 2008

At 12:01am on February 7, 2008 the Chinese World will usher in the Year of The Rat (some translations say "The Year of the SHU"). At that point the year 4706 will begin on the Chinese calendar.
Chinese New Year is the most important holiday of the year for the Chinese. The Chinese will settle all the debts they can, buy oranges for good luck and kumquat trees to decorate their homes, and clean the house. There will be a family feast, and the older people will give little red packets of luck money (ang pau) to the youngsters. Usually there is a parade, including lion and dragon dances, stilt walkers, floats and acrobats. And there is noise: fireworks at midnight, gongs, drums and cymbals at the parade. Doorways get a fresh coat of paint and the windows get decorated with paper cut outs. Happiness, wealth, and long life are the primary themes.
Many families will play cards and board games on the evening of the Chinese New Year's eve while they wait for midnight. Every light in the house is traditionally left on. Early the next morning, the red money packets are given out. Then people go door to door to wish their neighbors and relatives a prosperous new year.
Fifteen days later the lantern festival marks the end of the month-long New Year season.
The Chinese are not the only people who celebrate the holiday. The Koreans, Tibetans, and many other Asians keep the holiday. In Vietnam the holiday is called Tet.
Happy Chinese New Year to one and all. For you, who live in Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, United States, Vancouver, Australia or any other places in the world, Happy Chinese New Year once again!
Have a safe, and prosperous year ahead. I wish all my Chinese (speaking) readers a Happy Chinese New Year whether you are speaking Mandarin: "Gong Xi Fa Cai" or Cantonese: "Kung Hei Fat Choi"!

Maybe I am tired

Monday afternoon, snowing, cloudy. I went to my counselor appointment at 2, and now I'm in the computer lab. Not a special day, none a special thing, but the things that I needed to handle been driving me nuts. I hate the way I feel right now. I feel indifferent about a lot of things that i should care about. Everything is wrong yet nothing is really wrong except my whole plate of problems.. It is hard to explain.

I thought that if I cried perhaps, that would release my emotions, but I can't cry. I can't sleep well either. Someone have tried to cheer me up, from telling me jokes to tried to understood my situation, lol. And still, I am in this awful mood. It was supposed to be my relaxing day. A nice quiet day that I normally love after a hectic week. Still my mood is down the drain.

I had a conversation with my counselor today, less than an hour talk, but it does showed me what the problems are, wh
at is the thing been bothering me a lot lately. For a long time, Id been holding my breathe, I swallow everything that either good or bad by myself, I have burdens. Is heavy and stressful, I been carrying all these things from time to time. It didn't hit me until this couple years. I'm tired yet I don't want to give up.

It's just the way it is.
Maybe I am just tired from running around all week.

Maybe I am just tired.

Or maybe I am tired.

I don't know. I hate the way I feel right now. Nothing really helps.
